“From Ordinary to Extraordinary”

After five years, KaBloom Florist owner, Lynn Ruthven, decided to retire, and the store's master florist and designer, Rodney Canady, opened his own Florist, Blooms A Million Florist, in the same location.

Mr. Blooms, as he is affectionately referred to by many, is a Florida State Master Designer (2008) and Texas Master Designer (1992). Being a third generation florist, Canady has over 35 years of retail florist experience. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Northwest Florida Florists' Association. He has been a board member there since 2007. Rodney was co-founder of the Panhandle Group of Floral Study Group. The study group has contributed to the opening of new shops as well as, several students receiving their FSMD. Rodney has served on the Florida State Florists’ Association’s Board as District Director 1, where he now serves as Vice-President on the Executive Board. At their 2009 convention, he was presented the prestigious Harry J. Killian Award for Excellence, Professionalism and Service in the Industry. In 2014 was honored with FSFA Presidential award for member of the year. This award is only given at the discretion of the President of Florida State. He has been instrumental in bringing to Florida a new Florida State Professional Certified Florist Program. Rodney’s work is frequently seen in magazines and shows. He is often called on by other designers all along the Gulf Coast to assist with large weddings and/or banquet and convention work. In its first three years of business, Blooms A Million Florist has been nominated each year for Best of the Coast.
Canady believes that the health of the industry of retail florist is directly related to Education and Cooperation among retail and wholesale florists.

In this program, “From Ordinary to Extraordinary” Rodney will demonstrate techniques to you  on how to take every day designs and add your own creative spin for a greater perceived value. This will help brand your business and separate you from the mass marketers.
